NCMA - The 'union' for Childminders in England and Wales.
Regulatory Bodies - England and Wales.
In England the industry is regulated by Ofsted. Their website is
here. In order to register as a childminder, something that you must do if you intend to look after other people's children for reward for longer than 2 hours daily at home, click

In Wales, the regulating authority is CSSIW (Care Standards in Wales). Their English version can be found via this

Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In Scotland, if you wish to register as a childminder, you should visit the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA)'s
website. The Regulatory body in Scotland is the
Care Commission.
In Northern Ireland, visit the
Northern Ireland Childminding Association for help and advice on becoming a childminder. In NI, the Health & Social Services Trusts are the relevant authority for the Inspection and Regulation of Childminders.
